Wordtiming.com gives you answers to questions about how long it takes to write or speak a certain number of words. We also provide calculators as tools and tips and guides on improving your speaking speed. On top of that, we write articles about how to improve your reading and speaking techniques in general. It is not all about the speed…

Wordtiming provides tools and methods for measuring and improving your writing, reading, and speaking efficiency. You get your reading speed by measuring the number of words you can read per minute. The number of words you can type per minute is your typing speed. The number of words you speak per minute is your speaking pace.

You often want to strive for as high a WPM (words per minute) as possible. However, this does not apply when speaking unless you are a horse auctioneer. In this case, it is more of keeping the right pace for the specific occasion. Timing is another critical parameter for speaking, but it is hard to measure. Many people tend to talk a little too fast in front of others, resulting in the audience having trouble keeping up. Some talk far too slowly, which leads to the audience becoming bored. In other words, talking efficiency is more about timing and keeping an appropriate speed. Typing and reading efficiency are about keeping a high speed and maintaining quality.
